homemade j-dawgs

Everybody has heard of the famous j-dog, a local fast food joint who's menu is really simple: hot-dogs, soda and chips, you can either have it polish or regular, with onions, banana peppers, pickles, and the secret sauce, to my taste this is a homemade BBQ sauce with a kick of spicy. and a fresh hot-dog bun, and it all blends in perfectly to give your mouth an explotion on flavors, from the smoke of the grill to the vinagger hint from the banana peppers, plus I love the place and the college vibes you get from it. The best part a hot-dog from here is that is only three dollars, a price that any college student can afford.

In here I am going to teach you how to make some bomb j-dawgs with only a little money and about 15 min, with a couple of fast tips and different ingredients i like to add to them.

For the sauce we'll need a teflon pan, on medium heat, 1 tb of butter, 1/5 cup of brown sugar, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1/5 cup of ketchup, pinch of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce , 1/2 teaspoon of white vinegar, Tabasco sauce and a hint of garlic. Heat all of the ingredients till all of them are completely mixed, then let sit for five min (it will be really hot), if too thick add a teaspoon of water, till the consistency wanted is acquired.

Now for the hot dog we have three options, they all start with the same step, with a knife, cut a small incision in the hot-dog about a 1/4 of an inch deep and about one inch apart., from here on the options are; first, Grill the hot-dog, second, cook thoroughly in a pan and throw some onions to enhance the flavor, or third and fastest place the hot-dog with some onions in a square of wax paper, and throw in the microwave for a min and a half, and walla a well done hot-dog.

Then throw the hot-dog in the bun together with the special sauce, the onions, banana peppers, pickle, i personally like them with tomatoes, and like to grill my bun for a couple minutes. there it is, enjoy !!!
