Amazing Bakery

I love fresh bakery cakes, cookies, buns, croissants and donuts, but where can you buy some fresh bakery items without paying ridiculous amounts of money? or having to go to Europe? well, I have tried some really good bakeries in Utah, and there are at least some worthy shops that will make your taste buds explode! not literally, they grow back though.

If you have a sweet craving every now and then, and the only thing that satisfies it is a good eclair, you don't have to wait to crash a wedding at the end of the month, the place you must go my friend is the Schmidt's Pastry Cottage in Sugar House, this place has been opened for almost 50 years, they make the best eclairs I've ever had, it's a family treat that keeps our friends coming for more.

If you have the munchies for some original, cheap and delicious treats then you must go to the Anaya's Market on 1550 West and 7800 South, in West Jordan, they sell a decent amount of cakes, from plain chocolate, tres leches, to capuchino versions of tres leches cake, pineapple turnover, red velvet, etc...

I have a couple of favorites, on top of my list is a simple slice of spongy cake, with lots of butter and sugar on half, it's my favorite dipped on some hot chocolate.mmm...

I also love "Orejas", which is how Mexicans call the American "Elephant ears", or the French "Palmiers", call them whatever you want, this simple fried puff pastry is quite a treat, with the texture of filo dough, but the crunchiness of a craker, and the buttery fried coat that blends perfectly with the hint of sugar, this is a classic.
